I will never be setting foot in this chip shop again. I was ordering over the phone one evening recently and I politely asked how much my order came to and the Owner of the shop said to her member of staff who was on the phone to me "tell her to get her f**king calculator out". The girl who was on the phone to me then laughed at what the Owner of the shop said. I didn't say anything at the time because I had ordered and just thought I am really hungry. But the more I thought about it the more I thought how discusting it was, the fact I am spending my hard earned cash and the Owner of the shop speaks like that about customers. I have always gone to Tony's top chippy but I will never go again now.

Been twice...can't fault it. Delicious fish lightly battered and good chips. The staff are so helpful and pleasant. Will be going again and again for sure. Both times we sat in and there was no rush and made to feel very welcome.
We had a chippy here and despite some of the reviews here it was really good! The portion sizes were more than enough unless you are of alarger frame..... The fish was cooked well, not too greasy, chips were really nice and the Irish curry sauce was perfect! We'll definitely go again!
Excellent fish, chips and sausage at the Top Chippy.Despite a packed place on a Monday night (the fabulous Palace Cinema opposite is screening Mama Mia) after a short wait in a long queue - I left with what turned out to be the king of chippy teas..Haddock very tasty and nicely cooked with crispy but not overly thick batter, the chips tasty, creamy and done to perfection. Even the often bland chippy sausage was a firm slightly smoked quality sausage that tasted great. Out of 10 - yep, thats a solid 10 for good service and great tasting traditional food.Do go and give them a try.
